In 2020, SAW embarked on an ambitious project that involved furnishing the Hyatt Regency Malta Hotel. Amid pandemic restrictions, the team were able to safely conduct their work on-site without causing delays to the project timeline. Within just five months, SAW was able to furnish the 5-star hotel to the highest standards, while also providing a fit-out of all the public areas within the hotel.
Firstly, SAW provided a variety of doors to be used throughout the hotel. These included high-level acoustic doors (42 DB) for guestrooms, fire doors (30, 60 and 120 minutes) and standard doors. Secondly, SAW was responsible for furnishing the 151 guestrooms. A mixture of veneer and metal elements was used for sofa beds, chairs, tables, curtains and vanity units. To further elevate the design, custom-made light fittings were created using a mixture of leather and metal and SAW sourced and coordinated the production of custom-made wallpaper.
Loose furniture pieces for the reception area, pool bar, spa, meeting rooms and restaurants were also sourced by SAW from renowned international brands such as Moroso, Varaschin and La Palma. Lastly, the reception area’s eye-catching counter was created using curved timber and finished with a copper effect.
